Forum Language

Post by Michael » Wed Jul 13, 2005 3:07 pm

Hi Everybody,

I'm receiving complaints in regard to some of the language used on the forums. Please try to keep everything PG-13!!

I've been a bit lenient on the role-playing forums given character situations, but we must all remember to keep it clean. Attempts to modify inappropriate words to avoid the word censors is a violation of the TOS. Abuse of this can not be tolerated. Also, the use of sexual situations does not fall into the PG-13 catagory! Written pornography is not allowed!!

Keep it clean, everybody!

Thanks for listening,
-Michael

post a 'Acceptable' and 'Non-Acceptable' list or something, becuase I've always been confused on dividing 'R' and 'PG-13'

Obviously, I'm not going to post a list of words, but please avoid using profanity. Here are some further guidelines.

ALLOWED:

Posts which contains nothing in theme, language, nudity and sex, violence, etc., the elements of which are not deemed so intense as to suggest need for moderation.

Obviously such a line is difficult to draw. In our pluralistic society it is not easy to make judgments without incurring some disagreement. Thus, read below.

NOT ALLOWED:

Posts containing hard language (anything deleted by the word censors), or tough violence, or threats of violence, or nudity within sensual scenes, or extreme drug abuse or other elements, or a combination of some of the above that occur with aberrational behavior.

Ugh, I was waiting for somebody to say something like this...

Hence "aberrational behavior". It was implied that it is in consideration of the given circumstance.

If anybody is unsure as to whether or not your post falls within the "Not Allowed" catagory, please PM a moderator and we will let you know.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but what you do on your own website is your own business. These guidelines only apply to what is posted on these forums and are meant to keep them safe and enjoyable for everyone.

I find it sad that people preceive sex as rude and immature, I want to get that peorson who took somthing as lovely as sex and turned it into something dirty! SEX IS NOT DIRTY! ITS A FORM OF LIFE AND ENJOYMENT, AND IS A BUEUTIFUL AND MANY INSTANCES FUNNY THING!!

yes it is, one of the "problems" is sex (along with language, violence, drug abuse, need I go on?) and i think this is an acceptable place to discuss it
Oh, it's England. Croquet on the lawn, tea in silver teapots, sherry before dinner. One simply has to maintain one's standards!

I've been trying to censor the sex in the game in the general forum by just inserting blunt title cards. I'm hoping it works.

BTW: If there is anything innappropriate (like what we've seen in the other rPG's) in my new game I'll immediately arrest your character w/in the context of the game. Mine in strictly based upon the current edition, but improvisation in what you say and do is encouraged. Just no hot scenes with Green and scarlet, please.
