You glance suspiciously at them all and exit the Mansion. Walking on the driveway around your Uncle’s prized car you make your way through the hedges and into the Courtyard. As you enter the Courtyard you are greeting by the aroma of tea and flowers. Mrs. Peacock sips a cup of tea while leaning on her croquet mallet as your Uncle takes his turn. At that moment you hear another gunshot. No one else seems fazed by it other than you.
“Would you like to join us?” asks Mrs. Peacock
You notice a figure in the Gazebo.

“Uncle, didn’t you hear those gunshots?” you ask rather nervously
“Skeet.” Mr. Boddy responds, “I believe Colonel Mustard and Professor Plum are playing skeet.”
“You get used to it out here in the county.” Mrs. Peacock says, “I only live about five minutes up the road and I hear it all the time.”
“Henrietta is a good marksman.” Mr. Boddy says
“I could have killed everyone in the front line during the war.” Mrs. Peacock says proudly
“She beats me at skeet everytime.” Mr. Boddy says, “But not croquet. Croquet is my specialty.”

You join in your Uncle and Mrs. Peacock in playing croquet.
“So when exactly is the lovely niece of yours going to be arriving?” asks Mrs. Peacock
“Any moment now.” Mr. Boddy says looking at his pocket watch.
“I saw a taxi in the distance.” You mention
Mr. Boddy turns to you with an awkward look on his face.
“Well, that could be her.” Mr. Boddy says, “The hedges do prevent us from seeing the road so I couldn’t be certain if it is heading here or to another house nearby.”
You take your turn as Mrs. Peacock peeks out of the courtyard in the direction of the road.
“I don’t see anything.” She says
“Well my nephew must have been mistaken.” Mr. Boddy says, “But Georgia will be here any moment.”
You finish your game with Mrs. Peacock winning and Mr. Boddy pouting. At that moment a young girl with a large sun hat enters the courtyard.
“Oh my gosh!!” she exclaims in a long southern drawl, “This is still the largest buildin’ I’ve ever seen!”
“Georgia!” Mr. Boddy pulls her into his arms, “Mrs. Peacock, Francis, I’d like you to meet my charming niece, Georgia Peach.”
“Are ya’ll playin’ croquet?” she asks in excitement, “I’ve always wanted to play croquet with the fancy rich folks!”
“She’s a keeper.” Mrs. Peacock mutters to you
“I’ll say.” You respond to her
Miss Peach giggles, “Is that a Rolls Royce?”
“My prized possession.” Mr. Boddy says leading her out of the hedged corquet field and towards the car. You and Mrs. Peacock follow, “I can take you for a ride in it later.”
“Oh my!” Miss Peach gasps, “I can’t believe I’ve got such a nice uncle!”
“Yes,” Mrs. Peacock says, “He is being very generous today.”

You walk over to Miss Peach, “It’s great to finally meet my cousin.”
“Oh!” she giggles, “I didn’t know we’re related!”
“Yes,” you say, “I’m not exactly sure of the details but I know that we share the same uncle.”
“Isn’t he the greatest!” she smiles
Mr. Boddy puts his arm around her shoulders, “Why don’t we get you settled in upstairs in your room.” He turns to you and Mrs. Peacock, “Feel free to venture upstairs now if you’d like.”
With that Mr. Boddy and Miss Peach enter the mansion. You hear a faint “Oh my gosh!! Look at that chandelier!” come from inside.
“Well,” Mrs. Peacock says, “I don’t know about you, but I think she’s up to something.”
“She seems like a sweet girl.” You say
“She can’t honestly be that soft in the head.” Mrs. Peacock says, “She never would have made her way out of the train station, let alone finding her long lost uncle. Mark my words, she’s up to something.”

“Well then, Mrs. Peacock,” you clear your throat, “What is your opinion on Miss Peach.”
“Gold digger.” Mrs. Peacock responds, “Showing up at this time of all times.”
“What’s so special about this time?” you ask
“… maybe you should talk to your uncle about that.” Mrs. Peacock says, “I hate to be the bearer of bad news.”
“Are you insinuating that my uncle’s time on this earth is limited.” You cross your arms in offense
“Forget I said anything.” Mrs. Peacock says
“I certainly will not!” You stamp your foot
“Oh very well,” Mrs. Peacock gives in, “Don’t you find it a little peculiar that a rich man like your uncle suddenly finds out about a long lost relative that he never knew about?”
“Things like this happen a lot.” You insist
“Perhaps in a trashy novel.” Mrs. Peacock whips her nose with a white handkerchief, “But I don’t trust that girl.”
“She no less trustworthy than Miss Scarlet.” You say
“Miss Scarlet is not untrustworthy!” Mrs. Peacock snaps at you as her face turns red, “She is a beautiful young woman who has lost her way and is looking for a little help to find her way to happiness.”
“And you think she’ll find it with my uncle?” you ask
“I hope to God not.” Mrs. Peacock’s face turns sour.

You shake your head at Mrs. Peacock’s odd behavior and begin to search the Courtyard. You come across a rusty monkey Wrench lying in the grass near the Library windows. As you search near the wrought iron drainage pipe at the end of the hedges from the croquet field you notice a ladder inside.

Curiosity gets the best of you and you descend the ladder, entering a wet tunnel. The floor of this tunnel is made of a wrought iron grate matching the one leading to the Courtyard. Underneath the grate you see the collection of rainwater below. The smell is almost unbearable. You continue to walk until you find a brick wall with a small section of wood paneling on hinges. You open it to find yourself on the basement stairs leading into the Cellar. There are numerous boxes stacked. A furnace and an electrical panel near the back corner. Behind and to the right of the stairs is an old bed, a piano, and some chairs and a table. Around the wall dividing the cellar is a wine cellar. Cobwebs cover the wooden rafters above you. You hear voices somewhere above you.

You quickly decide to eaves drop and get as much information as you can. You hear that one voice is clearly that of your Uncle, but you can’t recall ever hearing the other voice.
“How should I know who has it out for me?” Mr. Boddy asks
“Provoke them more.” An unidentifiable voice says
“I could get myself killed.” Mr. Boddy says
“Change the will tomorrow.” The voice says, “Make certain that everyone knows.”
“I’m pissing off a lot of people Sammy.” Mr. Boddy says, “Not to mention how many more people will hate my guts if they find out...”
“I know that.” The voice says, “But if I’m going to rid of the filthy person who has been sending you all these notes, I need to know who he or she is!”
“I think they know about the Fortune Hunter’s Society.” Mr. Boddy says with panic in his voice.
“I told you I don't want to be involved with your little Society.” The voice says
“There is a meeting this afternoon.” Mr. Boddy says, “There are three avid members here.”
“Avid members?” the voice asks, “So all four main members are here in this mansion? All four leaders of the elite group who are anonymously known for selling…”
“Hush!” Mr. Boddy says, “I’d really like you to consider joining.”
“That’s not my job.” The voice says, “I’m not here to help you with the slave market. I’m here to find out who knows what and put an end to this blackmailing.”
“And I appreciate that.” Mr. Boddy says, “You will be receiving a hefty sum of money for helping me.”
“John,” the voice says after a brief pause, “You’d better hope that the wrong people don’t find out about that little scam you have in the attic. Because some people will gladly kill to prevent this business from continuing… and with the main four members here, it looks like the business may be shut down for good if someone does catch wind.”
With that you hear footsteps and a door close. You are left in silence.

Searching the Cellar you come across boxes and boxes of stored items. Books, photo albums, old framed pictures, Christmas decorations, Easter decorations, even an old maypole in the corner amongst the boxes. The old bed has urine stains on the mattress and some spots which looks like blood. The chairs are dirty with rusty springs breaking through the fabric. You test a few keys on the piano to see that it is quite out of key. In fact all the keys from D2 to C4 do not work at all. You notice on a nail in the wooden post in the center of the Cellar is a coil of greasy, dirty Rope.

Further examination of the piano you find a box inside. Opening the box you come across names of women. Each name is accompanied with man’s name with an address next to both names. Serval names are circled and are brought to your attention.
