A Fashionable Mystery Cluedo Photoshoot Layout

Post by Murder by Death » Sun Mar 13, 2011 12:33 am

I kinda love these. The female characters really pull it off and the male characters are really convincing. Then again, I am the guy that started this thread - http://www.theartofmurder.com/forums/vi ... php?t=3515

I know some of you will absolutely hate these, especially Col. mustard. LOL

Miss Scarlett in the Billiard Room with the Revolver

Professor Plum in the Ballroom with the Lead Pipe (even the British have dropped the "ing")
Image
Colonel Mustard in the Study with the Dagger (looks more like the Lounge to me, but could be either)
Image
Mrs. Peacock on the Stairs with the Candlestick (should be "in the Hall" - the mistake in this caption is really surprising,
unless they intentionally mean the center stairs, which cannot be part of a solution, and thus is still wrong)

Mrs. White in the Kitchen with the Rope

Reverend Green in the Dining Room with the Spanner

These are cool! I LOVE Scarlet and Peacock. The only one I don't care for is Plum, and that's because it's inconsistent with the rest of the images - she's so far away!

Scarlet is perfect.

The rest are just okay.

Here's a set of suspect cards I was inspired to put together, using the fashion photo shoot concept, the names are like a contact sheet border.

(Green, you are right, Plum is just a little too far away to be used for this purpose without a larger print. But I do like the context with Dr. Black's outline on the floor in that one, which makes it perfectly acceptable to me – and what is that by his hand ... a feather duster? WTF?)

Plum is a bit blured but not bad.

Ya, an unavoidable side effect of the source image being to far away in the shot.

But overall these are very cool! Clue Couture? lol

Who else thinks Green looks like Winona Ryder?

What I like about having them all be youg attractive females is the possibilities of the backstories:

Mrs. White is Dr. Black's married domestic, with whom he is having an affair. Her husband doesn't realize that during the day when she is cleaning his home, she is often cleaning his pipes as well. But Black has promised to one day take her away from her domestic life forever. However, Mrs. White discovered she was not the only woman in his life, much less the only one to whom he has made promises. So one evening, Mrs. White prepared a special dinner for her employer, and secretly invited his 5 mistresses. She intended to serve him his comeuppance, but he ended up getting a helping of something far more lethal.

Miss Scarlett was a young actress Dr. Black met backstage after being taken with her during her performance in a play produced by his friend. When he found she was as talented off stage as on, he promised her fame and fortune, but so far has only provided private performances.

Colonel Mustard rose through the ranks quickly in Her Majesty's Royal Air Force. While this has raised many an eyebrow in military circles, her brilliance in engineering has quashed her staunchest critics (as well as a little help by a few generals from whom she got a rise). As the Military's top aircraft specialist, Dr. Black met the Colonel during a presentation by his company of their latest aircraft design. He was as impressed by her curves, as she was by his new plane's. Promising her a coveted position within his own company, and a substantial salary increase at risk to her military career, so far Black has only delivered his personal payload.

Reverend Green is a young cleric, recently stationed at the local Parish, who helped Dr. Black through the death of his father. Considered by Black as his greatest conquest, he showed Green that she had more to give him, than she could ever give to her vows. Promising to take their affair public and shelter her from the Church and scandal, so far the good Dr. has kept their confessionals strictly confidential.

Mrs. Peacock is the widow of Dr. Black's best friend, to whom Black has offered never-ending comfort - even while her husband was alive. Left with substantial debts, Peacock has been promised many things by Black, marriage and financial security chief among them. Unfortunately the only bills he's been paying are to the hotels where he meets Mrs. Peacock to offer his continued physical support.

Professor Plum was the most brilliant mind in her class when Dr. Black hand-picked her out of Oxford to work in his company. The fact she was also one of the most attractive women he had ever seen, didn't hurt. Their natural chemistry led to discussions of marriage and partnership, with Plum promised one of the most coveted positions in his company. Sadly, the only position she has achieved is in his bed.

Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but tonight it's going to be piping hot!
