Pewter Figures

Post by orctrader » Mon Dec 21, 2009 8:02 am

Me again, come to ask the experts...

Metal figures from a game - I'm told - around 1990.

Do these appear often on Ebay and the like, or are they "rare."

If they are quite common I'll set up a saved search on Ebay. But if they are rare, hence expensive, I won't.

I only want them to paint. And if I had them might NOT - forgive me - paint them as the Cluedo characters. My hobby is painting metal figures.

They're not extremely rare. They're from the Cluedo Super Sleuth game released in the '90s. I'm sure there are plenty of them knocking about. I myself have them and they are really quite impressive.

Go ahead and buy them if you want them. If you're just planning on painting them and leaving them for 'show' as ornaments or whatever then I recommend you just buy those seperately. If you want to play with them, you might as well have a search for the Super Sleuth game. Hope I helped.

Great help, thanks. :)

I see several on Ebay. But as I only want the figures I'll watch and wait.

(If anyone has a "spare" set of the figures the don't need, if the price is right...PM me.)

That's true - perhaps Waddington's meant us to paint em!

Thought I'd update this...

I bought the set for just inder £6.00 including shipping on Ebay. As you advised, these come up quite often though the prices vary wildly.

Thanks for the information. :D

Congrats! I, for one, can't wait to see them painted.

These have always intrigued me as well. I colored in a picture of the pawns about 4 years ago.

Was that done on your pawns or computer drawn? I know you said colored, but either could mean the same.

I really like how you did Inspector Grey. Interesting how the pawn, even unpainted, appears older, heavier and gruffer than the art of him on the box cover.

I remember the topic where that was first posted and I believe he said they were photoshopped with colour.
