I just wanna get the family history correct.

Mrs. Peacock married 3 times. She married Miss Scarlet's father and they had Katherine together. She then married Slate-Grey's father and then Dr. Black.
I have updated Mrs Peacock's biography to include these details.

Ms Scarlet, did you notice the poison on the counter when you had the conversation with Mrs White in the kitchen?

"Yes, I did. I wondered why it was left on the side like that."

Round 2 questioning is over!
Now, an important element of gameplay comes into action. The 'Hidden Clue' card. When you make a suggestion you can choose to hide a card from your opponent, so they will see how many you have correct, but only 2/3 of the cards you accused. You can only use this card ONCE.

Can you now both PM me your accusations, and let me know if you are using your hidden clue card in this round.

BBP, you said...

I can reveal...

You have 2 correct, but 1 is wrong.

Black has played his Hidden Clue card,
Black, you said...

And I can reveal...

You have got none correct, so we can eliminate the Kitchen, the Poison, and someone! from the investigation.

We now proceed with player one, that's you BBP. One question to a suspect please.

Mrs Peacock, is the funeral urn still in one piece?

"Well, it was the last time I saw it when I was in the study with Mr Green."

Can I have your accusation, please? If you'd like to use your Hidden Clue card, please PM instead.

BBP has accused, and has used her Hidden Clue card,

You accuse that it was...

Image Image Image

And I can reveal that...

You didn't need to use your Hidden Clue card!

Image

It was the Library, it was the Poker and it was Mrs Meadow-Brook!

Image

'I'm so so sorry, I didn't mean to kill Miles. I was going to the Library to see if Mr Green had left the will in there. As I went through the Great Hall I saw him come from the Billiard Room. I was so scared of him threatening me again so I hurried into the Library.

Image

I'd noticed doors in there to the garden so I was going to run outside but the doors were locked. You need to understand how scared I was of Mr Green. I didn't know what he might do so in a blind panic I grabbed the fireplace poker for protection and I hid behind the door.

Image

Moments later, the handle turned and the door opened. He came in and I lashed out with the poker.

Image

I hit him again and again, only when I looked down it wasn't Mr Green, it was Miles.

Image

I think I went into shock, I stumbled from the room and into the Conservatory. I don't know how long had passed before Mrs Peacock came in. She was so wrapped up in an argument she'd just had with someone that she didn’t notice the state I was in. When Sebastian told us about Miles, what I had done hit me and I passed out.

Congratulations BBP, and thank you both for playing! I hope you enjoyed the mystery!

Well Done BBP - I had the Funeral Urn card so I knew what the 2 parts you got correct were. And wanna know what the sad thing was. When I made my first suggestion to Jamie, I told him I thought Green was the intended target

Great Mystery Jamie

Thanks.
I got to say I was worried when you said that at the start. I thought you had it all worked out, especially when you remarked on the physical similarities between Green and Miles.
BBP gave me her second accusation when she asked her last question, and before I reminded you both about the hidden clue card. So I had to wait for her to confirm if she wanted to use it. I knew if she didn’t, that Black, you would know the room and murderer, as you had the Urn card. It was quite fun knowing what cards you both had. I’ll leave a short break before the next one.

Hurray!

Thank you for making and hosting this mystery! Glad I won but I somehow wish it lasted longer.

Edit because new post: That's really nice of you Jamie... the thing was I didn't quite understand the concept of the hidden card at first - plus I was eliminating rather than finding direction, so I expected to have three wrongs.

(Boring afterthoughts in small print)
I asked Meadow-Brook since I wanted to eliminate her - a lot of characters don't have a motive but her motive would be the most obvious - too obvious to my liking, so I suspected she wasn't the killer. The matching location would be the library because she went there, and if there was one weapon I wanted to eliminate it was the funeral urn. That is just too horrible. So when you said I had 2/3 correct my jaw dropped. Working with this both initial guesses had to be 100% wrong. Since the library was linked to Mrs Meadowbrook it had to be those two, and as for weapons, the pen was with Mrs White, the briefcase in the study, the sabre in the ballroom, the fork in the dining room, I never even noticed the tray... The fireplace in the library was important early on and you mentioned it had a poker, so that was the only weapon at the scene...

What threw me was when White admitted to stealing the Pen:
A) Admitting a lesser crime so we wouldn't suspect her of a major crime
B) That's why Black was Blackmailing her
C) Her gasp to when she inherited the Royal Dalton, she inherited something she already stole

If she didn't admit that, I would have said Mrs. Meadow-Brook

BBP - What were your cards? I was dealt FUNERAL URN, SILVER TRAY and DINING ROOM (I did complain saying they weren't cards I was looking for as I didn't suspect them at all, but the Urn came out useful in the end)

Kitchen, Hall and Study. I opted for three rooms because of my legendary spatial awareness problems

I was half tempted to ask for 1 of each. But the reason I didn't ask for a suspect was that my gut told me, Jamie was gonna give me Mr. Green - Sure I would know he'll be telling the truth but he was pretty much bottom of my list.

Jamie, how did you choose which cards to give to whom?

The cards were pre-drawn and half allocated to each of you. You each had three rooms, weapons and suspects that you could be dealt. Then, which combination you pick decides which cards you got.
E.g
Black's possible cards were:
Dining Room, Drawing Room, Billiard Room.
Silver Tray, Funeral Urn, Fountain Pen.
Madame Rose, Mr Green, Mr Slate-Grey.

So if you'd chosen one of each, you would have got Dining Room, Silver Tray and Madame Rose.
One room and two suspects would have given you Dining Room, Madame Rose and Mr Green.

Just for fun, the order of BBP's cards was:
Hall, Study, Kitchen (as you know),
Fork, Sabre, Poison,
Mrs White, Miss Scarlett, Mrs Peacock.

I wish it had lasted longer too! Just to see if the format worked and if having cards and maybe bluffing with them was a good difference to previous mysteries. I just thought a new format with elements of the board game would be fun. I think (and hope) it was.

I think, with the way these stories work - all characters and weapons are sort of linked to location - this gives you more information when you ask three of a kind (weapon/suspect/room) than when you ask one of each. Eliminating the kitchen pretty much eliminated Mrs White for instance. With my spatial awareness issues I occasionally mistook the study for the library but since the briefcase and the urn were there and the study wasn't it because I had the card, both weapons could be eliminated along with the room.

I can't wait for the next case. Not gonna lie, Case 5's name is meh. Assuming that the victim is a police officer who comes to the mansion in search of Evidence and/or criminals. How about DEATH WARRANT as a name suggestion
