Solve the Crime

Post by Elrond » Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:10 pm

For your enjoyment... I came up with this today on break. :) This is my first time coming up with something like this, so I apologise if I'm missing something obvious!

A corpse has been found at Tudor Mansion, and YOU are called to investigate.
Identify:
---Where the corpse is
---Who the victim is
---How s/he died
---Who is the murderer

Tudor Mansion is the same as the regular board with the following changes:
---The Cellar is replaced by the Drawing Room.
---The Gate House is located outside of the Hall.
---The Gazebo is located outside of the Lounge.
---The Veranda is located outside the Dining Room.
---The Tennis Court is located outside of the Kitchen.
---The Garden is located outside of the Ballroom.
---The Swimming Pool is located outside of the Conservatory.
---The Stables are located outside the Billiard Room.
---The Garage is located outside the Library.
---The Fountain is located outside of the Study.
---The Boat house is located behind the Garden, Swimming Pool, and Tennis Court

The Suspects and Victims are all mentioned below.

The weapon could be anything.

You have the following clues based on testimonies and forensic evidence:

Witnesses:
---Miss Scarlett: “I was in the Dining Room with Lord Gray, Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Meadow-Brook, and one of the servants. One of the men was very sweet and brought me tea.”
---Colonel Mustard: “I was in the Dining Room with Lord Gray and three women, but I forget who they were. I remember the butler brought in some tea and Gray served the women while I, uh, sampled the shortbread.”
---Mrs. White: “I was in the Kitchen preparing dinner the entire time. Ashe was in and out and Rusty was taking his tea at the table.”
---Mr. Green: “I was alone in the Garage; I heard footsteps pass by but saw nothing.”
---Mrs. Peacock: “I was in the Dining Room with Lord Gray, Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, and Mrs. Meadow-Brook. One of the servants briefly entered the room to bring in tea but did not stay to serve it.”
---Professor Plum: “I was with Prince Azure, Dr. Orchid, and M. Brunette discussing the ongoing political situation in Egypt. Prince Azure and I had very different opinions on the matter, but that was resolved peacefully.”
---Miss Peach: “I was in the Drawing Room reading a book and could hear voices in both the Dining Room and Billiard Room.”
---Lord Gray: “I was in the Dining Room with Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, and Mrs. Meadow-Brook. Ashe the Butler served us all tea.”
---Lady Lavender: “I was sitting alone on the Veranda. I could hear a large group of people in the Dining Room, and I noticed a man carrying a tray entering the room from the Kitchen and then return to the Kitchen only moments later.”
---Prince Azure: Unavailable for Questioning.
---Mrs. Meadow-Brook: Unavailable for Questioning.
---Rusty the Gardener: Unavailable for Questioning.
---Madame Rose: “I walked past the Billiard Room window on my way toward the Stables and saw Prince Azure engaged in a lively discussion with Plum. I think there were two other people in the room, but I have no idea who they were.”
---M. Brunette: “I was in the Billiard Room with Dr. Orchid when two other guests entered and started arguing loudly.”
---Dr. Orchid: Unavailable for questioning.
---Ashe the Butler: “I brought tea to the Dining Room but one of the guests insisted on serving it, so I returned to the Kitchen. There were several guests in the Dining Room including two middle-aged gentlemen and three women. Rusty and Mrs. White were both in the Kitchen.”

Forensics Team:
---The victim was identified as a woman.
---There was blood on the front of the victim’s clothes.
---The corpse was found in the east side of the house.

Clarification: I used the DVD board, so the HALL is North and the Ballroom is South.

OK thanks! That helps. I'll dig up my copy again.

I'm not sure about the 2nd post in this, since it's a first time poster, so the post's been locked (meaning it can't be edited by the poster to enter a malicious link). Just so you know. If this account suddenly gets a sig with a dangerous link in it, I'll toss it right out.

Clearly this is just me, but I am baffled. As far as I can see, nobody can be dead :?

You're having the same hiccup I had. It was explained to me that someone could've been killed while in a room with others, if the murderer was crafty enough about it.

Thanks MrGreenJeans.
Some of the comments on here threw me off even more than I was! Between the (wo)men comment and the fact that the corpse was identified as a woman, I thought that either a man was posing as a woman or vice-versa. :?
I must have been watching too much RuPaul's Drag Race :D :D
