"Why thank you Lt. Flax."

Sir Shamrock paced around the room.

"Well I think it's obvious who did it. It was Signorina Cappadona, in the-"

"Museum with the Golden Umbrella." Great Aunt Smoke interrupted.

"Why you...you...figlio di puttana!" screams Rosa. "Never have I been accused of such a thing!"

Herr Weiss gently cleared his throat, "I accused you earlier."

"Si, and don't think I have forgotten it." She sits back down heavily in the chair and folds her arms, waiting hopefully for the Lieutenant to disprove.

Cue Flax

"Not so obvious, I fear," Flax retorted. "You can rest more easily, madame. Perhaps it is the earliness of the hour, but I just had an amusing thought. Would it not be convenient were there some sort of...envelope in the center of the house? One which we could investigate to find the truth?"

"Gee, you people must think I'm guilty, even when I'm clearly not!" Protests Mr. Raven.

"That remains to be seen!" Flax retorted. "Yes, you...like the communist uprising in my homeland, may just be a red herring. But I have not yet heard a more suitable suggestion."

[ClueLover98 has timed out. Please cue Jamie.]

“There isn’t many people left now” said Herr Weiss gazing around the room. “Let’s have a stab at Miss Taupe.”

I suggest Miss Taupe - Razor - Hothouse

I will accuse after any disprove regardless.

sorry I thought I had posted earlier but it’s not here so...

Herr Weiss stands, puffs his chest out and proclaims, “I now know who the killer is.”
He gestures to Rosa, “Shall we do this Flanagan and Allen style?”
“What?”
“Never mind. We say the murder occurred in the Hothouse, with the Razor and the culprit is none other than Mr Mossman!”

I accuse Mr Mossman - Razor - Hothouse

P.S As I’m away solving another murder, I don’t have my notes from my laptop and there is a teeny weeny chance that I haven’t eliminated as many suspects as I think I have! But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Silence. For a house that had been echoing all night with chatter, with wild accusations, with the ticking of distant clocks, the grinding of hidden gears, and the rattling of wind-beaten windows, the chateau was suddenly completely and suffocatingly silent.

"I had not considered that possibility, mein Herr. Perhaps foolishly." Flax was the one to break the sudden spell, placing her hands on the table as she slowly rose to her feet. Her movements were now defensive, shrewd, taking in her surroundings with an almost predatorily instinct. The evening's events played through her mind in a sudden loop, and she offered a small nod in Weiss's direction. Perhaps a plea for backup from the sole sane man in the room?

For the slightest second, however, the woman's eyes shot to the imposing window to the mountain below. The snow had stopped, and for the first time, the trickling rays of morning were beginning to filter through the glass. There was a glint there, something in the distance. Perhaps a flicker of motion? The sun cast yellow rays over the Lieutenant's face as she spoke up again.

"Mr. Mossman, this is where we stand. I have no doubt you are the guilty party we have sought. Do you care to deny it?" she asked firmly. "I am also certain that each one of us can attest to having offered all alternatives and reached no consensus but this."

With these words, however, she gently rose her hands above her head, a display of surrender.

"Alas, I remain unarmed. My pistol, in addition to the tram keys, are still missing. Something you perhaps know too well? That said, I have an admission of my own. Why should the royal guard of Prattonichniy come to our aid? They have no reason to. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, no such signal existed. No cavalry will be banging down our doors. And so, sir, what say you?"

She locked eyes with Mr. Mossman, refusing now to break this standoff.

[Jamie has correctly accused! Mr. Boddy was indeed killed by Mr. Mossman with the Razor in the Hothouse. Congratulations, detectives, and thank you for playing.

Cacums, you may post to resolve the climax with a confession and wrapping-up of events, whether a daring escape, an arrest, or however you feel best. The following do remain true:

    Lieutenant Flax's pistol remains missing
The key to the tram remains missing.
Four servants (a cook, a maid, and two tram attendants) are locked in the servant's quarters
The royal guard of Prattonichniy has indeed reached the summit of the mountain and can burst in at any moment, despite Flax's assertions otherwise.

After cacums has gone, we can move forward starting with Jamie in order and do our own denouement and epilogue. Thanks for playing, everyone!]

[I will be along shortly with a confession. My laptop decided to commit suicide and detached itself from the hinges. But I will post before the night is over (EST)]

Mr. Mossman "It's a funny thing. I had no intention of murdering Boddy... but I wanted to as soon as I saw him. I knew who he was and why he was here. I mean... wasn't it obvious? And the way he married her so quickly *ahem* even this roomful can agree that Boddy killed Governess von Blau. But I was the only one who cared. Of course some of you cared... But no one had the decency to do anything about it. I listen at doors to the fools bumbling around in pantries for sandwiches, down hallways chasing their imaginations, or even Maharajah's bold, but meaningless vow to do the deed himself.

Everyone here was so absorbed in their own personal conflicts I knew I could finish searching the place. And if Boddy managed to get in my way, I hoped his death would at least get heads turning. All it took was a misplaced key and a paranoid Lieutenant without her precious firearm to get you to tear into each other and accuse each other of murder. Do you know how amusing it is to listen to suggestion after suggestion, each one further from the last?

Anyway, I hunted for the governess' secret room. It was the last thing I needed to do before leaving this place for good. I'd let you guess what room I found it in, but we don't have time for that. It was the Hothouse of course. But Boddy knew what I was looking for when he saw me in the Feasting Hall searching fruitlessly, he knew where to wait for me. The secret room was nothing more than an access point in which you can safely travel between the walls of nearly every room here. Haven't you noticed the thickness between rooms? I doubt anyone really did, who am I kidding.

As Boddy emerged from the secret room I lost my nerve. Not only did he know about this access point -- which the Governess assured me was her best kept secret-- I managed to rattle him up. Point out the fact that he was a gold digger with the most transparent cover-up story. I've done countless tasks, quests, and investigations for Blau and not once did she mention her trust for anyone by the name of 'Boddy'.

I knew what I wanted to do. His throat taunted me as my fingers pulled the razor open. All he did was talk with that condescending, passive-aggressive tone. I cut his vocal chords and watched him choke, bleed out, and piss himself."

"W-Why are you telling us this?" Princess Blueblood looks around the room for reassurance, uncomfortable by Mossman's eerily calm delivery.

"Because there is no where for any of us to go," Mr. Mossman pulls out Lieutenant Flax's pistol, "And I'm fairly certain none of you really cared much about Boddy int he first place. In fact, most of you found him as distasteful as I did. For that, I think I'm all owed a vote of thanks."

"F-For he's a jolly good f-fellow," Princess Blueblood begins to sing.

The rest of the room joins in with Great Aunt Smoke singing the alto harmony.

Mr. Mossman slowly backs out of the room, making sure to keep the pistol pointed at the terrified singing group.

In his careless effort to leave, Mr. Mossman backs into the chest of the royal guard of Prattonichniy.

"доброй ночи" Princess Blueblood blows Mr. Mossman a small kiss.

The royal guard takes Mr. Mossman's arm and twists it until the Pistol is at his temple. Mr. Mossman screams in anguish and defeat. *bang* Mr. Mossman drops to the floor...

Blood begins to pool around him as the snow on the window pane begins to soften and melt.

{If I may make my own quick denouement, all I have to state is that Earl Gules and Mr. Raven made a swift, wordless split from one another, bitter over the confusing matter of accusing an innocent. Gules fled back to his family estate, forgetting the whole affair entirely, and Raven retreated to alcoholism that eclipsed any hopes of breaking into the production industry. Pardon for budding in, cue Jamie, or whoever wishes to close off.}
