Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

Post by ArtStar » Mon Aug 23, 2004 9:32 am

I went to a murder mystery dinner theater about a month ago in myrtle beach. It was very Clue like because it was actual mystery but had tons of comedy. The only difference was there was about 30 something people
It was really fun

We went to the Sleuth's Murder Mystery Dinner in Orlando. I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't do one of theirs again. It seemed so commercial. I would love to do a Murder Mystery Weekend, though!

Oh i went to one at a resturaunt, it was fun but like michael said it was to commercial, i would also LOVE to go to a weekend one, My dad is a member of eaa and they are having a mystery dinner party but its in an airplane hanger and i think they invited all the eaa members so there will be like thousands of people there! I haven't decided if i want to go or not yet seeing as its 4 hours away and its $25.00 a person!

I've been to the Sleuth in Orlando three times! Which one did you go to Michael? Lord Mansfield was great, Roast Em' Toast Em' was bad and The Reunion was awesome!
I don't see what you mean by them being 'commercial'. I didn't see any product placement, nor did I hear any plugs. I'm curious to as what you mean.

Wadsworth - "He decided to put his information to good use and make a little money out of it. What can be more American than that?"

I'm going to an Addams Family themed murder mystery dinner tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Surprisingly, there are a heck of a lot of murder mystery dinners going on in the Philadelphia area. Several per day each weekend at different places.

The murder mystery dinner was so much fun - WAY better than the Sleuth's show we saw in Florida.

The story followed the Addams family's Gomez, Morticia, Fester, Grandmama, Wednesday and Marilyn (from the Munsters).

After seeking psychiatric help, Wednesday has finally found happiness! Until her fiance Eddie Munster (whom the Addams family disapproves of) turns up dead, that is. His cousin Marilyn shows up with the bad news and wouldn't you know it, she's a detective now. She quickly determines that one of the Addams Family is responsible.

The cast I think all looked quite the roll (except for maybe Grandmama who was played by a man). They were all hilarious parodys of the characters and it kept us laughing.

And even more bizarre, but totally awesome, was when every once in awhile they would break out into song and dance that really didn't have anything to do with the mystery but helped create the mood or enhance their character. Here's a short clip of them doing "Thriller."

That sounds like fun! Are you taking part in the mystery or is this something where you will be in the audience?

Guests have to dress up in masquerade... but no, I'm not part of it... It's going to take place at a ballroom and from there to a train... like a train murder mystery...

I'll probably just wear black, have a cape and mask... maybe a fan...

The guy that sat next to you?

My real guess: You?
"Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"
"You don't need any help from me, sir."
"That's right!"

This one has always been my favorite. I'm not sure if they're only in Denver or what.
