You enter the Conservatory to see that the stained glass window has been shattered. It’s a shame you didn’t get to see it in its original grandeur. On the floor with the shards of broken glass is a monkey Wrench. It is the same Wrench you saw outside the Library windows in the Courtyard. You also see Sergeant Gray laying face first in the broken glass.

You begin to examine Sergeant Gray’s lifeless body when suddenly his eyes spring open. He gasps for air and grabs you by the wrist.
“Sergeant!” you gasp
“That bastard!” he shouts, “He took my daughter! It wasn’t Mr. White!”
“Calm down,” you try to keep him from hurting himself on the broken glass, “What are you talking about.”
“My daughter, Caroline was sold into slavery by Mr. White.” Sergeant Gray says, “Mrs. White explained to me that Mr. Boddy was the one responsible. He hired me and kept me here at the mansion, all the while knowing that he was the man who took my daughter away from me!”
“My uncle has done some wrong things but he is trying to make it right.” You explain
“There is no way to make it right!” Sergeant Gray shouts
“How did you end up here?” you ask after a moment of silence
“I remember talking to Mrs. White. She told me about Mr. Boddy then she left me alone. I was walking around and then the glass shattered. Someone came in wielding a Wrench and knocked me unconscious.”
“You don’t have any blood of bruises.” You examine Sergeant Gray’s head
“I have to find Mr. Boddy!” Sergeant Gray shouts, “Where is he?”

You ignore Sergeant Gray and instead examine the Wrench. There is no hair or blood on it which leads you to wonder how Sergeant Gray ended up on the floor.

“Sergeant, your head is not damaged, the Wrench gives no indication of being used to bludgeon you. What really happened?” you ask
“I already told you!” Sergeant Gray shouts, “Someone busted that window open and bludgeoned me with that Wrench.”
“Who?” you ask
“I don’t remember.” Sergeant Gray says, “Wait… it was a woman.”
“A woman?” you ask
“Yes, I remember seeing a woman walking outside the windows shortly before I was attacked.” Sergeant gray insists, “I have to find Mr. Boddy!”
“No,” you try to stop him but it’s too late Sergeant Gray rushes out into the hall, carrying the Wrench with him.

Searching the Conservatory you find that the mirror near the Studio door is on hinges and is swung partially away from the wall, revealing yet another Secret Passage. All the plants in the room appear to be in good health. In the fountain in the center of the room you find a thin golden chain… that of a female’s necklace. You look out in the distance but no longer see Miss Peach and Monsieur Brunette riding horses. Perhaps they have been informed of the havoc that unfolded in the Hall.

You enter the secret passage behind the mirror and find yourself stumbling around in the darkness. You feel along the walls to help you but still manage to trip over mislaid bricks. Eventually you bang your fingertips into a wooden frame on the wall. You feel inside of the wooden frame and find a knob. You pull the knob and it swings open revealing the Drawing Room.
“This is where the passage I found earlier leads to.” You say aloud
Colonel Mustard politely harrumphs.
“Oh, Colonel,” I didn’t see you there
“Quite alright, good boy.” Colonel Mustard proceeds to pour cheap tobacco from a leather pouch into his smoking pipe.
“You seem to be in a good mood.” You say
“Well I heard about the little spat that Mr. Boddy had in the Hall.” Colonel Mustard says, “People were grabbing pipes, candlesticks, and ropes left and right.”
“Bullocks!” you snap, “They only threatened to.”
“Ah, but have you seen your uncle since?” asks Colonel Mustard
“If only happened a little while ago.” You say, “It’s not as if they would actually act on it, or commit a datardly deed like this.”
“Wouldn’t they?” asks Colonel Mustard lighting the tobacco, “He threatened to call the police. It’s only a matter of time until someone opens the pantry and an arm of a leg falls out.”
“You… you’re mad.” You back against the wall, “You are completely and utterly mad.”
“Say what you will,” Colonel Mustard says, “But I know deep down that you are still suffering from your uncle’s horrid ways. It’s only a matter of time until you jump on the bandwagon of wanting him out of this world.”
“I… I think I need a drink.” You pour yourself a brandy
“What is it with you and your uncle and brandy?” asks Colonel Mustard, “No one else here even likes the stuff.”
You take a sip and cringe at the taste, “I suppose I can see why.” You set the glass on the coffee table and sit on the divan, “This is terrible.”
“So?” Colonel Mustard asks
“What?” you ask him
“What did you uncle do to make you angry towards him?” Colonel Mustard asks
“Nothing!” you say abruptly, “At least… nothing I quite remember.”
FLASHBACK – August 3, 1908
You are seven-years-old, racing around the Dining Room table struggling to keep hold of a heavy pewter train. It’s one of your favorite things to place with when you are at your uncle’s mansion. Although the pewter train is meant to be the Dining Room’s doorstop, you can’t help but find the train amusing. Outside in the Hall your mother is yelling at your uncle.
“Women?” you mother shouts, “How could your butler be selling women as slaves without your knowledge.”
“Things like this can happen.” Mr. Boddy says
“You are involved, aren’t you?” your mother accuses
“No!” Mr. Boddy says, “And I’d appreciate you keeping your voice down about it. Mrs. White is in a very fragile state of mind.”
“Francis,” you mother walks over to you, “Put the train down, we’re leaving.”
“But I didn’t get to feed the horses.” You protest
“We’ll stop by the fair in town. I’m sure they have horses there.” Your mother says
You drop the pewter train to the floor in disappointment.
“What the *beep* have you done?” Mr. Boddy shouts
“John!” your mother slaps him, “Don’t talk that way to my son.”
“He’s damaged the floor. It’s dented!” Mr. Boddy picks up the train and pushes you out of the way, “That’s cost a lot to repair! Three floor boards are damaged.”
“I’m sorry, uncle John.” You try to apologize but your mother pulls you aside.
“I’m going to Scotland Yard.” Your mother says
“Over what?” Mr. Boddy asks in frustration.
“This little business in the slave market. I bet you know more than you are leading on.” She says
“You will do no such thing.” Mr. Boddy says grabbing her arm
“Let go of me!” She shouts
“You need to be careful about what you say and who you say it to.” Mr. Boddy says, “If I’m the dangerous man that kidnaps women, who’s to say I won’t kidnap my own sister.”
She spits in Mr. Boddy’s face and tries to pull away. With one powerful swing, Mr. Boddy hits her in the side of the head with the pewter train. You stand in fear, looking at your mother’s motionless body. Mr. Boddy pours a glass of brandy and hands it to you.
“Just drink, and forget it all.” He says
You take a tiny sip with the same digusted reaction as you did in the present.
END OF FLASHBACK
The taste of cheap brandy on your lips, the smell of cheap tobacco in the air, it’s a wonder you are in an elegant mansion. You are becoming consciously aware of your surroundings, upon leaving your flashback but you just can’t open your eyes. You hear voices but they are muffled and distorted. You feel the room grow darker and darker but you can’t tell why. It isn’t until you hear the loud chimes of the clock that you finally come to. You open your eyes as the clock strikes eight. Colonel Mustard is gone.
“How long have I been out?” you ask looking down at the brandy glass.

You enter the Hall to see everyone standing around. There are solemn murmurs filling the air.
“Francis,” Miss Peach rushing over to you. Her eyes are puffy and red, “Uncle John is dead!”
“What?” you ask
“The police are on their way.” Sergeant Gray says
“Police?” you ask
“He was murdered.” Sergeant Gray says
“What? How?” you ask
“I’m not sure.” Sergeant Gray says, “He was found at the foot of the cellar stairs. Bruises and scratches cover his body.”
“He could have fallen down the stairs.” You say
“Oh please,” Miss Peach says wiping her eyes, “Everyone here wanted him dead. His death was no accident.”
“Fortunately all the telephones had their flexes cut.” Professor Plum says, “There is no way he called the police to confess.”
“If he couldn’t make outside contact, how did you call the police?” you ask Sergeant Gray
“The telephone booth.” Sergeant Gray says, “Across the street.”
“I can’t believe someone murdered Uncle John!” Miss Peach shouts, “I can’t believe one of you murdered Uncle John!”

You descend the stairs to the cellar and see your uncle’s body sprawled out on the floor. Anger and rage fill your body. You can’t decide whether the anger and rage is form remembering how your mother died, or because someone took your uncle out of this world before you could confront him about it.

The skin on his face is torn and bruised as if he was dragged face first. You notice several splinters of wood in his skin. You run your hands along the stairs leading back up to the hall and come to the conclusion that is where they came from. The back of his head and neck is a bloody pulp. The hard stone floor of the cellar made be the cause of that but it may have also been a bullet, blade, or blunt object. You still aren’t certain what the injuries were caused by. The redness around his neck indicates he may have been strangled, or possible his tie was too tight. Poison is still a possibility. Regardless the killer went through a lot of trouble discarding the body of a man that everyone wanted dead. There is only one thing certain… your uncle is dead and has been dead for quite a while.
In his pocket you find a silver coin and a pen.

Searching the Cellar you find that the Rope that was previously hanging on the post is missing. By the splatter of blood on the boxes nearby it is clear that the killer let your uncle’s body fall down the stairs. The furnace is billowing black smoke from the vent. You also notice a bottle of brandy missing from the winery.
