The votes are in...

The Chief has gathered everyone in the lounge yet again. 'Right guys, things have slipped, we are further from the truth than before. Clearly this investigation is going nowhere, so things are gonna be changed. Monsieur Peridot, I'm afraid the others think you are impeding them.
So I have to ask you to leave the case.'

'That is unless you can solve the murder here and now, and further increase your international reputation.'

'So...have you worked it out?'

So, this is how it is. If you feel I am not contributing, then I will leave it to others. However, despite how things appear, I do believe I have, in general, a good idea of what exactly happened. I believe that someone took the Scarf that was hanging in the hall, and used it to kill Mr. Boddy in the Ballroom. As for who it was... I say it was you, Col. Mustard!

[My final accusation: Col. Mustard with the Scarf in the Ballroom]

The Chief cuts in

'I'm sorry Monsieur, you have a fantastic reputation in unmasking criminals, however this time you have not quite delivered. I thank you for your time and hard work, but unfortunately your time with us is now over.'

Detective LeJets and DS Copper, congratulations you have been deemed worthy of staying to the end by your peers.

You may now both ask three more questions. When you have your answers, you can make a final accusation. If neither of you are correct then the criminal will have got away with murder. Good luck.

Captain Brown, was your scarf still on the hook when you were going to leave?

Colonel Mustard, did anyone enter the billiard room after Madame Rose left?

Reverend Green, what were your movements throughout the evening?

Mrs. White when clearing the dinning room was the candlestick still there, if the candlestick isn't kept in the dinning room, where is it kept? (I'm assuming this is 2 questions)

Col. Mustard, did anyone else join you in the billiard room besides Madame Rose this evening?

Very sorry about the delay, I've had a hectic week.

Both final accusations were incorrect, and part of why the delay occured was that I wasn't sure how to end the game as I hadn't bargained for nobody solving it.

To end the game I will do a confession by the killer shortly.

Cue the Murderer.....

'I knew that I had the killer card without opening it, it was going to be in the envelope that was Boddy's favourite number, which if you know his birthday you can work out.
So I waited for everyone else to rush out of the dining room, and stayed to confront Boddy. Which was futile of course. I went looking for a weapon, which there was in the billiard room, but Madame Rose saw me in there so I had to find something else.
I went back to the dining room to retrieve the card and find where Boddy had hidden the revolver, but the envelope had gone. Frustrated, I paced around which is when I stood on some of the broken glass on the floor. I took the largest piece and put it in my pocket.
I then began a search for Boddy, eventually I found him in the ballroom, reaching into the grand piano, searching for where he had hidden the gun. He didn't hear me creep up behind him, and....I jabbed the glass into his neck. I then ran back to the billiard room, and hoped that people would believe I had been there all the time.

Thanks to everyone for playing, sorry it dragged on so long.

Seeing as it was well received then I may continue my series in this format.
But I may make a few tweaks, as I really didn't think that nobody would solve it! I didn't want to make it too easy as I didn't want everyone to guess the solution in the same round and not have an outright winner.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it then please say.

Just for future reference, there will always be a big clue somewhere in the story. In this one, for those that didn't get it, it was that Mustard had the killer card in envelope number 5. Boddy went on for a while about his birthday.....

"as it is during the week beginning 27th April while I am away in Berlin and have an iron cast alibi. Incidentally I will be back a week later, just in time for my 57th birthday, for which I am throwing a party which I trust will be a double celebration."

...which if you worked out the date, you'd have got that it was 5/5/55, and is his favourite number.

I figured out that Mustard had the killer card, but I did it more through process of elimination. Actually, at first, I thought the whole killer card thing was just a red herring, since we saw someone with it. When Plum said he just found it in there, I realized it probably was important.

The thing I couldn't figure out was the weapon.
