I guess we can blame that on the fact that a straight boy created the poll:P I too would have worded it differently, but I'm sure everyone understood what he meant.

What is so offensive about the wording? I'm not sure I follow. If you are a girl, the sentence should read:

"Straight, BOYS rock!"

Your other options are: "Bi, BOYS and GIRLS rock"

and

"*beep*, GIRLS rock"

"Gay" isn't an option for girls.

If you are a boy, the sentence reads:

"Straight, GIRLS rock".

He put the slash there for you to use your own judgement to "correct" the sentence, so to speak, no different than saying "the suspect left his/her glass on this table". You use it when you are not aware of the gender. I am very unclear as to why the wording would be at all confusing or offensive.

I find it neither confusing nor offensive. I am gay and I think boys AND girls rock! Thus, I would have worded it differently :)

Not a big issue...

I think personally sexual orientation is as important as the color of someone's hair.

Well I'm sure I don't know... but if I wasn't trying to keep the conversation going then we would just be sitting here in an embarrassed silence...

Well, it just seems to me that you are. You seem to suffer from what we call, "pressure of speech."
