Airport Security

Post by CluedoKid » Sun Nov 14, 2010 5:23 pm

An interesting article posted that I think everyone here should read. Especially for anybody who is ambivalent to the tightening security measures. Really makes you wonder, this is our world where as the article puts it, we are turning our airports into fortresses and surrender our freedoms and privacy, in the name of something that is ultimately impossible: total safety.

MY Opinion...Once you buy that ticket to the sky ways...You lose all your rights...Remember one thing...That ticket your buying could be to your grave...

There will never be too much security for me.. My safety for family is very important...

But giving up your rights doesn't make you safer. Not even a little bit. You say giving up our rights is worth it if it will stop the terrorists.

It doesn't.

As Diat60 pointed out, these body scanners that can see us naked have been proven ineffective in detecting hazards brought on by terrorists. They failed in detecting the 2006 liquid bomb plot or the 2005 London train bombing. They can't even detect objects stuffed inside the body.

It's even possible for terrorists to by-pass the no fly list. All they need is a false name and fake ID.

You say that ticket your buying could lead to your grave, but so can a lot of other things. That ticket could spell doom in a terrorist attack as much as a cigarette can butt you out with cancer, that hamburger building up to cardiovascular disease or even carelessness leading to a fatal trip down the stairs. A fire in your own home is 10 times more likely to kill you than a terrorist attack.
