What my life holds in store

Post by cacums » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:35 am

Last night at the masquerade murder mystery I was called to act in it and everyone thought I was a professionally trained actor. They were fooling. The most impressed was a large man who sat a row down on the train. He was a rather large Stefano Demira looking guy who came over to me and tremendously shook my hand and I thought he was part of the play until he told me that he is a locally popular director who started on independent films which took a turn of their own. He began to talk to my parents while I'm trying to concentrate on my acting on the train. He wants me to be a supporting character in the new csi style series he is writing... I'm still cautious to find out everything about him and make sure he's not a child molester.

The night is a daze I remember stumbling to answer questions to the audience all the while thinking what may be in store for me. We did research and we feel safe about him. He's not able to be found on google (mainly because he is locally popular with a single studio in Louisville KY) but I am going through a mixture of worry and anxiousness... How will this affect my family? How will this affect me? He is planning to film in January... Auditions for the part I might go as start whenever we make contact with him (I need a lawyer and god-forbid a film agent). This is far too much for a 15 3/4 year old...

On top of that I got two offers last night. The Mystery Theater company wants me to be a regular cast member and not a 'by chance called to the suspect list'. Too much for one night. My best friend still thinks I'm lying to him so I expect some of you to doubt it, but that is what happened last night on the train... And might I say: the best early birthday present ever...

In closing I hope not to be withdrawn into the snobby bitchiness that comes with acting in films, but I hope to God that I don't regret accepting this offer in the future... :|

Well, this all sounds very interesting. Now let's see how things go. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the whole thing is a little off. Anyways, congratulations. :)

My dad trusts him but my mom doesn't... I find it a little suspicious but I'm going to check it out (not alone of course)

My guess is that he probably isn't a child molester. You're no longer a child, so it shouldn't be a real concern.

We just got off the phone with him and the show his style is more kid friendly with the occasional adult joke. Here's a link where you can see http://www.talentworks-usa.com/profile.php?uid=1541

Where Finale 3 (preproduction) is that will be the one I'll be auditioning for...

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm style kinda mixed emotions...

Know what I have to say? Take the oppurtunity. You might never get another chance. It's next to impossible to get a role in TV or film anywhere nowadays.

Thank you both...

Thing is, I quit drama and know my drama teacher wants me back to prepare me (and cuz she wants to be known as my trainer)

So I'm gonna give both a go... I still haven't heard from the director since that last time I talked to him, but I'll hear more soon....

Little update:

I just got back from an agency, we are looking for an agent for myself because of several commerical offers. It was fun, I was the second to audition and did a monologue. She was really happy with it and told me that she'll call back sometime this week with the news. I am also availible to work in Chicago, St Louis, Atlanta, New York, Nashville, or Cincinnati, which she was also very pleased with.

So the question remains in my house "Do I have an agent?"

For those of you who don't know, you never have to pay them a fee, they just get either 10% or 20% cut of whatever they book you with.

Small update:

Today we got the call back from the agency. I can offically say that I have an agent from the Katalyst Agency. I'm going back on the 26th to get everything finalized and see if they have anything planned for me.

That is really great news! Congratulations!
How do you know what kind of pictures they are if you're such a lay-dee?
