Any Gleeks here?

Post by Niteshade007 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 9:03 pm

I could have sworn someone else mentioned the show Glee awhile back, but I may have been wrong. At any rate, I was wondering if anyone else here was a fan? The episodes are good, but the show needs to find a better balance I think. Some episodes, like the most recent one, were really heavy, and the last one lacked a big song. Yeah, they had the football players dancing to Single Ladies, which was funny, but when every other episode has featured a huge musical number, this one stood out. I guess it makes sense, it's difficult to stage those, and it would get repetitive, I was just slightly disappointed.

Please tell me I'm not the only one watching.

I mentioned Glee a while back. I loved the pilot, but I haven't been able to keep up with the new episodes.

I didn't care for the pilot and haven't watched it since.
How do you know what kind of pictures they are if you're such a lay-dee?

I actually enjoy it, but the last episode was a little weak. The Cheer Leading coach is hilarious and quotable. I thought the first episode after the pilot was fantastic and laugh out loud entertaining. I'm glad that they are moving away from realism since it would allow more surreal musical numbers. The lack of realism though is making the characters more cartoon like...but I also like Better Off Ted which is pretty much a live-action cartoon.

Peachfreak, you really should watch them on hulu or something. It's a funny show. Sorry you didn't like it Michael. It's quirky, and I hate supporting a show on Fox, but at least it's a progressive show.

Jane Lynch (the cheer leading coach) is hysterical. The teacher's wife has sort of become too much of a caricature. I mean, she has NO redeeming qualities whatsoever, and it makes you wonder why a nice guy like him would actually marry her. He had to have known what he was getting into. I love Jayma Mays (the guidance counselor), as well. I don't really find myself caring if she and Will get together though. Same for Rachel and Finn. But the show isn't really about romance, so it's okay.

I only saw the first season and enjoyed it, but I haven't really been keeping up (apart from spoilers on Wikipedia) with seasons two and three because I got in kind of late. The over-hype kind of turns me off. Although, I spoke with a classmate who has been keeping up, and she tells me I'm not missing out on a lot.

Yeah, the show sucks. It has just become ridiculous. Had a strong beginning though.

I didn't read whatever it is I wrote in the beginning, but sadly my feelings towards the show have changed drastically.
