After positive reception on stuff I wrote in the blogs section of That Guy With the Glasses, I created a blog yesterday to share my thoughts on my great passion: mysteries, particularly those of the Golden Age. I ended up calling it At the Scene of the Crime. Thus far, I included my video, panning The Affair at Royalties, my "top 5 Christies" list, and a list of my top 10 favourite mystery plot ideas, complete with representative recommendations.

Stephen Harper's re-election campaign? Go up to Canadians and shout "BOO!!!"

How pathetic can you get?

If I were forced to describe myself, I'd call myself more of a Conservative than anything else, but I don't think I support any Canadian party anymore. (Maybe I'm more of a Conservative Liberal... Or maybe a Liberal Conservative...) The Liberals really messed up last time with their "green tax", which may have been a bit too radical. The Conservatives are persuading provinces to go from two taxes to one "unified" tax which is basically the equivalent of highway robbery. Less and less of our healthcare is being covered by the government as they seem to be trying to bring the US healthcare system into Canada...

Stephen Harper has been a disappointment. He hasn't been a Prime Minister. He's been a bully. And I doubt anyone else will be much better. Politics is no longer about the good of the people. It's about calling your opponents dirty fascists or scaring people with visions of those bastard Commies taking over.

The world is one weird place.

Well if your old enough, still vote anyway. Even if you goof up the ballet, a nullified vote is still a vote.

The election takes place just 12 days before I get my right to vote.

I have some good news and some bad news for Christie fans. The good news: Julian Fellowes is writing the script for a film based on Crooked House!

The bad news: DIsney has acquired the rights to Miss Marple and is set to create a "Young Miss Marple" movie set in contemporary times. This is NOT my sick idea of an April Fool's joke. This is the real deal!

Oh, you haven't heard the best part yet. Jennifer Garner is set to play Miss Marple.

Yeah, because Jennifer Garner totally looks like an upright, Anglican spinster.

Aahhh visions of Marple meets Alias, where after unmasking the culprit, Jane kung-fu kicks them to the ground when they try to escape.

Are people so uncreative that they can't think of original ideas, but just take something thats been done, change it a little and ruin it in the process?

What the heck are they gonna make Poirot? Hercules Poirot - a gangsta rapper from da hood?

Nah, he'd be a tough gumshoe from the New York slums, smoking cheap cigars and roughing up uncooperative suspects. I can already see him at work:

A kiddies version of Miss Marple. We all know that's going to be fantastic, it would Midsomer Murders, without any murders.

I'm a little nervous. It's my friend's funeral today and it's my first ever one.

Nah. I love my mother- she's like a mother to me. She works hard every day of the year and deserves an overcommercialized day just for her.
