The Internet, but seriously, I don't know.

If you don't here from me by tomorrow, I died in a tornado that is threatening my small town.

I told Michael about it last night and he thinks someone tried hacking.

I doubt that somehow. Actually, I'm glad you woke me up. I was having this nightmare - I dreamt that Billy Mitchell off EastEnders was killed in a gory accident! It was so horrible!! Everything was unbearable!! I'm just so glad it was only a dream!!

My physics prof is a really great guy, always willing to explain stuff after class, help out, and very enthusiastic about the subject, making it sound somewhat interesting.

Unfortunately, despite all that, I still have no idea what's going on in that class. I just put my faith in the equations.

I just made an incredible discovery: the British mystery series (a must for any mystery fan, especially those fond of locked rooms and impossible scenarios): Jonathan Creek. It's an excellent, highly imaginative series, with complex plots and excellent acting, and a theme song that's just as good (if not better) than Midsommer Murders:

I'm so entirely fed up with my family; my brother viciously picks on me right in front of my parents, and all they say is "Don't go near him, and he'll leave you alone" or "Deal with it yourselves."

Yet, if I dare retaliate, I get an earful because I'm older. Guess I should just sit there and take it while he wears away what's left of my self-esteem, huh? I'm sure there's some element of abuse or something in our relationship. I feel like a complete idiot because I keep going back, and I act like a fool and do things for him just to get acknowledged.

And that's my vent.

Sigh. College can't come quick enough. I want to get out of here.

The most I'd say is just ignore him. Put ear phones in and pretend you can't hear him or actually blare music in your ears. Maybe yell at him strong enough that he'll know not to mess with you any more. Or just don't feed into it. I normal just roll my eyes and say "Wow", "Whatever", "I really don't care.", or chuckle lightly to yourself. Chuckling to yourself works with me because from his point of view it makes it seem like you are making fun of him in your mind without using much attempt.

PeachFreak,

Give your brother a nice smack across the face; make it bleed. Tell your folks to take a hike, then leave (Not forgetting to burn down the house on your way out). That will teach 'em.

(But seriously, you've admitted having low-esteem, and I think you should address that. Even though cacums suggested ignoring your brother, that probably won't solve your problem. Your parents already suggested ignoring, and clearly it's not working. They may suggested ignoring him because they see it as the usual head-aching sibling rivalry. Y'know, they have better things to worry about.
I'd talk to them, just you and them, and force them to acknowledge how bad your feeling so they might be able to help better. Also make the issue about you and not your brother. Yeah, he's the one *beep* you off, but if you keep venting how horrible he is, they may think you only out to blame him. I don't know what your parents are like, but I'd would hope they do care enough about you to listen. It all about how you say it though. Be honest and clear, and I think you could pull something off.)
