Clue Filming Location Fire?

Post by Michael » Thu Oct 06, 2005 10:13 am

Somebody sent me an email that the house at 160 S. San Rafael in Pasadena (used for some exterior shots in the Clue movie) burned to the ground. I'm not sure if it's true or not, however, since I've been unable to find a source to verify the information.

How do you know what kind of pictures they are if you're such a lay-dee?

Oh my god, it's true. Somebody from Paramount also emailed me to see if they can use the pictures from my website. The house burned down!

It makes me sad. I understand the ballroom from Clue was the actual ballroom in this mansion. I always wanted to get a photo...

:( Very sad indeed. I found a link to the news channel in CA with video of the fire.

I got happy for a moment, I knew that the mansion used for the batman tv series in the 60's was not the same house that was used in clue the movie, so I was hoping that they were right in reporting that the house that was destroyed was the one used for the batman tv series, but now reports came out that the house that burned down was not the one used in the batman show, but was indeed the one used in clue and dynasty. Both houses are in the same area and for a moment I was hoping that the beautiful house that was used in clue was still standing. Sadly that is not the case.

:-(

Thanks for the link to the video. I guess nothing could have been saved from that. I hope if they rebuild that they leave the driveway alone!

How terrible! It was such a beautiful house
Oh, it's England. Croquet on the lawn, tea in silver teapots, sherry before dinner. One simply has to maintain one's standards!

Why, in the world, would it ever be arson? that doesn't even make sense, no one was even living in the house so its not like anyone could have had a grudge against them, it was probably a construction accident, it was stated that the building was being remodeled

At least they are going to try to rebuild it as it was. There's some comfort in that possibility.

Actually it was for Entertainment Tonight / Insider which is a division of Paramount. I don't know if they were used or will be. The contact hasn't mentioned it.
