Something special in store for Cluedo!?

Post by ProfessorPlum54 » Wed Sep 30, 2009 12:17 pm

Manchester-based Mason Williams has won a competitive pitch to represent the iconic board game Cluedo in it’s 60th Year.

Mason Williams already handles the press office for Hasbro’s toy and game portfolio and to date this year has carried out major PR campaigns for brands as diverse as In The Night Garden, GI Joe, FurReal, Playskool and Nerf.

Said Deputy MD Gawen Higgins: “Cluedo is a brand very close to our hearts having worked on it for many years. It’s a big anniversary for Cluedo this year and we’ve cooked up something a little bit special. I don’t want to blow our plans so watch this space come autumn!

Who knows what this could be!
Green - "If he was such a patriotic American, why didn't he just report us to the authorities?"
Wadsworth - "He decided to put his information to good use and make a little money out of it. What can be more American than that?"

Too bad its been unmercifully destroyed by a sinister co-oporate company obsessed with modernized influences over classic games.
It’s a big anniversary for Cluedo this year and we’ve cooked up something a little bit special.
Does this mean we get our good ol' Colonel and Professor back? Or are we just going to be introduced to Meadow-Brook; an egotistical fashion designer who is invited to a Hollywood premier, and Rusty; a stuntman with a grudge, to add to our current 'masterpieces' of Hollywood-themed suspects.

Or how about a high-frequency I-pod as a weapon.

I was hoping for a boom mic as a weapon...

Whatever it is will be rubbish unless it's the original set!

I don't know, new games are always exciting. Whether you like them or not, I always get a little excited when I see the Clue logo. Haven't bought as much lately, since as most of you have voiced (over and over again) that you don't like the new "artwork" and change of character names, but still interested to see what they have cooked up.

Me too. I'm willing to give whatever it is a chance. I mean, Secrets and Spies is a very fun game.

I think complaining about the fact that they are creating new Clue merchandise is ridiculous. Would you rather them never make anything again???

Yes I realize we all love the classic version the best, but atleast they are still paying attention to our beloved Clue!

Paying attention yes, but they are kinda ruining it...

Technically they aren't even making Clue anymore. It's something...else, just with the Clue logo on it.

Well, whatever the 60th anniversary edition is, it'll be better than this:

I know that's a joke, but it's in pretty poor taste. Not on your part, TheWhitePawn, the people who made it.
