Allow me to introduce myself... (Voice talent? Come in!)

Post by JoshieLove » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:51 pm

Hello there,

My name is Josh. I've been a fan of Clue since I was old enough to understand the game. My imaginary friends as a child were the entire six Clue characters. I used to tell teachers to call me Col. Mustard (then my mom found out and put an end to it).

I'm a big, big fan. I'm sad I didn't find this site sooner, I thought *the other site* was the only Clue site worth visiting. Mad props to the owners of this site.

Now to what I'm after. I've been working on a Clue-parody flash series for awhile now off and on. I recently lost my job, and now I have time to devote to it to finally get it going (gotta look on the bright side, right?).

I'm looking for 8 people. The following parts are open:

Col. Mustard
Miss Scarlet
Mrs. Peacock
Mrs. White
Mr. Green
Prof. Plum
Mr. Boddy
Narrator

Before we get started on how to get involved, this is going to be a long term thing. Probably through this year. If you do not have the time to devote to recording your lines, please do not submit an application. I'm taking this very seriously, and want my voice actors to do so as well.

This is strictly voluntary and for fun. As of now, you will not be paid for your work. This may change in the future depending on the popularity of the series.

There will be three parts to the application process.

The first part is simply contacting me at mrdeaddoll@gmail.com. I need the character you're interested in, and hours you're available (in your time zone) if we were to do short (30 mins to an hour) group readings of episodes.

I will then send you lines and a small bio of this character (don't worry, they're the same characters you know and love). You will then record your voice doing these lines, and email it to me.

If you get picked, you will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. This means you do not reveal any parts of the script or project to anyone. To sign a NDA, you have to be 18 years old. So if you're younger than 18, I'm sorry.

Anyways! I'm very excited to get started, and I hope you are too. If you have any questions, email me or post here. :)

Never said it was bad, just thought it was the only Clue site out there worth visiting before I found this site (one not hosted via Geocities or what have you).

It sounds interesting, and I think voice acting would be something fun and interesting to do, but I don't have the time or equipment to devote to it. Sorry. I do look forward to seeing it though.

Haha now I'm feeling bad. I've just had real bad luck bookmarking a site hosted via a free hosting site, and going back to it a few weeks later and it not working. Or filled with ads that have crazy pop-ups, etc etc. I promise it's nothing personal.

Heh, no worries. I was only kidding. I'm sure you also don't know why I even commented. I'm the creator of the "World of Clue" website, which yeeeears ago was sort of "The Other Site" in regards to Cluedofan, but now languishes at the old Geocities address, much to my chagrin.

The site will be 10 years old this Fall, so I do hope to FINALLY get it on its own domain name for the occasion.

Sounds really interesting, but I'm sadly only 15. :(

Don't apologize. I'm not exactly happy about being older. Health and energy go right down the drain. Hold on to your twenties as long as you can, kids.

It's amazing to me that I was in high school ten years ago. I do feel on the oldest side for this site.

I have voice on my camera but it will have to be cleaned up. I can look into a mic and would the recording be like a web cam thing?

I should be able to just get the voice from the recording, that's all I need.
