New Clue Game Coming in 2008

Post by rob r » Tue Mar 25, 2008 1:20 pm

http://boardgames.about.com/b/2008/02/1 ... report.htm

here is the quote:

Also due out in 2008 is a new edition of Clue -- but Hasbro was tight-lipped about what changes are in store for the classic deduction game. (They did release several "rumors" about the game, such as "Time is of the essence... players may have to act fast or the murderer may strike again.")

So, my guess is we'll see it by Christmas for sure...interesting. This seems to be in addition to the Clue Express. Pretty cool...

Thought I would let my friends here in on it.

We heard the beginning of it, but I didn't hear (that i can remember) about a killer striking again.

I've really changed my mind about that game. I didn't like it at first but now i think it may be really cool.... er...Clool

I'm curious, myself. I don't see the release of a new Clue as a bad thing.

Oh it better not be Clue Express. They really went out of their way to ruin Clue with that one. It seemed more like a dusty old police report on GPS than Clue.

I meant an edition of Clue. I don't know what Clue express is.

So wait, I'm confused...Was the rep at the Toy fair referring to Clue Express? Or a new version of the standard edition? Or a 3rd game?

The toy fair took place after Clue Express was released, so it had to have been another game.

the article mentions clue express also, so I'm thinking it's a different game than the express.

This could explain why at my local Walmart, all of the standard Clue games were piled onto their own special shelf in the middle of the toy department. There wasn't a single Clue game mixed in with the other boardgames! every single one in the store was on that one, big shelf. I guess they're trying to get rid of them all before the new one moves in.

I really can't help them there. My Wal-Mart has: Standard, Jr, Mysteries, Suspects, Dvd, and still the Haunted Mansion and sadly (for them, not me) I have all of which, actually I have three standard ones , I bought one, My dear girlfriend (Amber) didn't know i had it, and my school gift exchange . So I of course only play one, (the one from my dear girlfriend, only so she's not my ex-girlfriend  )
