Just An Idea...

If certain games go for a lot of money... I bet you can just buy them through spare parts at Hasbro.com. The only thing you'd be missing is the box. The 50th anniversary of clue, for example, can be bought for $32.50. That's not that bad. I bet the others go for really cheap. And you don't even need all the parts... such as the card tray. So it would be even less.

And the Haunted Mansion game only goes for $15! Not bad at all.

Too bad they don't carry ALL of the previous edition parts :-(

But what about shipping and handling charges? Would that eat the savings? I don't know if I'd be happy without the box...
How do you know what kind of pictures they are if you're such a lay-dee?

i am feeling the same way! however there are a few games i have-unopened and don't want to open them or pay the full price for another unopened game (the nostalgia and mysteries!) also my 50th anniversery game's board isn't perfect (it has some clear sticky residue on it i can't get off) so to buy a new board would be really nice! also you can think projects (we all make our clue related stuff) so to buy certain peices instead of an entire game would be another option for us crafty folks! i agree about the box though-at least for me that is just as much part of my collection as the peices inside but for other things-nice option to have!

It says those prices include shipping and handling.

It would be really cool to be able to order old game versions and spare parts for all the games.

unfortunately, all they have for the older editions are the rule booklets. I've tried a few times to see about replacement parts for certain things (the filters in the VCR games, magnifying glass for the Jr edition) and if they no longer make the game, they no longer stock parts. kinda sucks.

Too bad it doesn't work that way for Cluedo games too...

I would like to get some of those playing pieces.

of course me too! however-if a peice gets lost or isn't perfect (i.e my board for my 50th anniversery) this is a nice thing to know of!
