I don’t know this franchise. Is it exclusive to Germany? Looks like a cool game though with great figurines.

No, it was a pretty well-known cartoon back in the day, a bit moralistic but great music. It was originally a Swiss comic that was converted into animation in 1983 and 2005.

I see. I assume the colors chosen for the characters align with the story?

Odd they don’t go with Cluedo colors — no green, purple, white, or even pink — and instead have two shades of gray!?

Not sure if I remember the story and I'm definitely not familiar with the 2005 remake, but I don't see much of a link between colour and character.

It appears that the suspect colors and color spaces don't line up. The start spaces are the 2016 colors

Looks like it, the horse is on a red starting spot although he's a yellow token, Yakari's token's red but his starting space is green...

I've never heard of a licenced Cluedo jr. before. Are their other licenced Clue games under the jr. line?
