CD-i Clips from the cases.

Post by FatalIllusions » Mon Oct 08, 2018 6:44 am

Hello everyone, I just joined. :)

Does anyone remember the CD-Rom games? Has any fans ever come across any video scenes from the old CD-Rom cases. I remember playing the game way back in 1998 and even still have the game box but there has been no way to play it any more. Always found those scenes really good, in the same way the VCR game scenes use to be. Just was curious if anyone has ever come across any clips or if any ever surfaced over the years?

The 1st 3 Cluedo CD-I mysteries can be found at Archive.

Spoilers ahead for any one reading this who hasn't played those games!

https://archive.org/details/HoodedMadonna
https://archive.org/details/DeadlyPatent
https://archive.org/details/HappyEverAfter_201806

Notes: The video scenes start with The Butler introducing each case followed by the room scenes from Hall to Study (Hall, Lounge, Dining Room, Kitchen, etc).

Then it's the suspects' point-of-views. (Their motives.)

After those scenes, there are 4 audio solutions for each mystery.

I have just created files from Not In My Back Yard.

They're VCD (PAL) (Europe) MPG files. (I forgot to convert them to MP4 files. Tch.)

The page they're at is: https://archive.org/details/NIMBY081018

The zip folder of all the files is: https://archive.org/compress/NIMBY08101 ... 081018.zip

I'm quite impressed by the technical skills of members of this forum! (Video conversion, usage of archive.org, etc.) There's quite a lot of good history of games and technology to learn and absorb from reading on these forums.

Believe me, there was a lot (a lot!) of trial-and-error beforehand.

Thank you for the files from "Not in My Backyard." That was the only footage I hadn't previously seen.

Everyone's replies are awesome! I didn't realize that there had been other scenarios from the game as well.

That is amazing! Thank you so much for the link. I don't think I ever attempted the Expert levels so now I will have to try them out. :)

Oh, now this is excellent! I've always liked this cast, especially the dynamic between Professor Plum and Mrs. White.

Just uploaded better quality versions of:

The Hooded Madonna: https://archive.org/details/TheHoodedMadonna211018
Happy Ever After: https://archive.org/details/HappyEverAfter211018

With Not In My Back Yard uploaded too - https://archive.org/details/NIMBY081018 - that's the 3 non-PC versions that can be downloaded (each video scene) and assembled into any playing order for a VCD or DVD.
