Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Got mine today & finally had a chance to sit down & look at it. To start, here’s the extent of the “damage” that saved me about $6: https://i.postimg.cc/Ny5NFmM1/B7-C4-EB46-C35-D-4663-A8-FB-D99-F3688-BB21.jpg So I think I’ll keep it, lol. So the box looks pretty nice in person. I still think it loo...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

The game has turned up in stores at K-Mart, so I’d think it should be on all store shelves by the end of the month.

Re: Is Orchid Clue/do Still a Spinoff?

So now that Hasbro has doubled down, and produced not just one new edition with Dr. Orchid, but three, not including the Marmalade digital game — what are the odds the next standard version will drop Dr. Orchid for White? Granted, the SilverLine edition is just the same game with different trim, and...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I know it's unlikely, but I just hope that the mirror works with the older editions of Clue Oh I think it will. So long as the cards are not any wider than the new cards, and so long as the cards have the captions at the bottom. I suppose you could always insert them upside down in the cases where ...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I found this new edition listed on Amazon . Just ordered a copy for $14.26 ($15.26 after the $1 tax) — closer to what I think an edition like this should be retailing for, rather than upwards of $20 (after sales tax). The caveat is that I opted to buy one of the few being offered as a discounted Am...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Ah! Well it might be a gimmick but it's non of the less a cool change. (In my opinion) We have a huge sporting goods store here in Mt called Scheels and upstairs they have a small toy section. I unexpectedly saw it with the other board games they carry and let out a huge gasp. When I noticed it was...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I bought this yesterday quite unexpectedly for 9.99. So.. no it's not just a gimmick, it does exist! Well the gimmick is the mirror. But where did you buy it for half the retail list price of $19.99? I'm sure I speak for all when I say we'd like info on how the mirror works, and how the directions ...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

In looking at the higher resolution images, it’s clear the mirror is some kind of mirrored film. Note the warping and distortions in surface. So the construction is pretty cheap, and guaranteed to get damaged in short order. But it definitely is a reflective, mirror-like surface. https://www.acdd.co...

Re: Clue Current Thoughts

With all of the obscure characters being added to the Clue app/steam game.I wonder if they will ever use the updated characters in a new modern day version of Master detective. Also from the little bits and pieces i'm slowly hearing about the new Ryan Reynolds Clue movie. I wonder if they are gonna...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I do think the new Detetive game should have been considered for inspiration in updating the main Clue game. Aesthetically I don’t love all of Estrela’s choices, but mechanically I love what they’ve done with it, especially with the easy & optional integration of additional suspects & weapons, and ...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

After examining the board design in Orchid 1st, silver line, rustic and this Orchid 2nd edition, I think Hasbro is making it clear that the changes to layout, missing door and Mrs Peacock' starting square are by modern design and here to stay. I don't think it is coincidence that changes are favour...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

As for loading the mirror, it’s really not gonna be difficult. It’s already easy to tell the 3 decks of card apart before they’re shuffled together, and if the back of the card isn’t upside down then the text on the face should also be aligned properly. I really don’t see how anyone who isn’t legal...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I would imagine the mirror unit opens from the back, and the cards are loaded in a particular order, probably with some kind of notches to ensure they’re aligned properly. It does look tall enough to display the text at the bottom of each card if they’re fanned vertically inside the unit. As for ho...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I'm honestly curious how the Mirror works. Like it doesn't look big enough to hide cards. I always find it fascinating when Clue has things like electronic gimmicks. I never bought the previous Orchid game. I do like the figures in this game. Tough I may rather get the Cluedo version of the first O...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Apparently this is already available for purchase from Hasbro, though it’s still not listed on sites like Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Some internet digging found a catalog of new games for retailers to order stock for their shops: this game is officially known as Clue Classic Reveal, has been avai...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

The 1979-1997 pawns are back (which I know some people lament, I personally favor those pawns). ... My solution (which goes along with changing and improving; the global theme nowadays) keep Orchid, add White back in, and throw in an eighth suspect so we can utilize those empty starting spots at th...

Re: New Clue Parody Game

I picked this up yesterday at a Target in a neighboring town (my local Target didn't have it). As a lighthearted knockoff, I think it's just fine -- and I find it far more appealing than the recent "Mystery Game." And since we've gone from the "victim" being a corpse to instead a missing pal, swapp...
