I actually watched this game get offered at Yahoo!Japan Auction several times before someone finally bid for it. I think it went for less than 2000 yen ($20.00). Then, several weeks later someone created the boardgamegeek entry. I think it was probably the same person. Because there wasn’t an entr...

My only real complaint about the mechanics of the game is the arrival of the new passengers. While kind of a novelty device, it makes no sense. How could a passenger coming aboard the train mid-way during the trip have any clues to the a murder which occurred earlier onboard the train? If they only...

Haha....I think so. I like Ghost Stories, but I haven’t had any time (as in class time) to teach my students to play it. We currently like ‘The Adventurers’ from AEG.

Darn. Tannerman posted the DiceTower review before me...haha. Tom Vasel’s reviews have made me buy a lot of games so I think I’ll be preordering this tomorrow. Games are ridiculously expensive in Japan, but then again, Tom Vasel lives in Korea. (Of course he gets a lot of these games for free fr...

My Halloween costume this year is Son Goku from Dragonball. I bought the orange costume, but replaced the belt with a fake one (it is really attached using velcro in the back and the knot and ends are all different pieces. The head is made out of cardboard boxes and old magazines covered in felt. Th...

I actually enjoy it, but the last episode was a little weak. The Cheer Leading coach is hilarious and quotable. I thought the first episode after the pilot was fantastic and laugh out loud entertaining. I'm glad that they are moving away from realism since it would allow more surreal musical numbers...

Though you probably already assumed it the family names (which are written first) use the Chinese characters for colors. Edo-Murasaki (Edo Period-Purple) Shira-Ishi (White-Rock) Midori-Kawa (Green-River) Aka-Bane (Red-Wing) Ao-Ki (Blue-Tree or Green-Tree...Aoi is both Blue and Green in Japanese) Kar...

Mac Version

It just got released on the Mac so I downloaded the demo and used up the trial with 2 games. It lacks atmosphere but it was as fun as most hidden object games are. If you buy it here: http://www.macgamestore.com/detail.php?ProductID=1193 you can type in the code 'freeclue' to get the previously rele...

Thanks for the explanation. I noticed that everyone was posting pictures off the net and just assumed that people were just having a lark. Didn’t realize there was an actual structure...haha. I’ll have to read the first page more closely. edit. Ah, now I get it. Not sure I want to dig backwards ...

The first one is definitely you! The second one is hard to tell.... Why would that be? Last weekend I had a Board Game Event at a Community Center. Unfortunately we didn’t play Clue. We played Heroscape. You can see in the back corner that I brought basic 1996 Clue and the Mystery At Hogwarts Gam...

@Black Nope. I’m the teacher. I don’t think you guys will know this character. It is one of the most iconic characters in Japan. Basically it’s Japan’s Superman. It’s name is ULTRAMAN. I actually watched it on TV (Channel 29 Buffalo New York though I lived in Toronto Canada) back in the 19...

Someone just uploaded redesigned counters and a board to replace the US version of Orient Express at www.boardgamegeek.com. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2363 Still not as cool as the UK version but since I just won the 99 cent auction of the US version the timing couldn’t be better. Seriously...how can this auction still be active...That’s such a bargain price. Most auctions end at around $25.00 to $30.00. I got mine for $24.95 but mostly because the seller offered to reduce the postage to Japan if I hit Buy It Now. Postage is often the deciding factor for me, since some sell...

Thanks Harlequin. I’ll keep track of it, but I have a couple of other things I’m bidding on already. The postage to Japan is a little high as well. I find buying from the UK is cheaper because of postage, but of course Japan and America are NTSC while the UK is PAL.

The seller will ship international and the auction starts at...

There are no copies of the VCR game at ebay right now. Here’s a bad clip (someone videotaping his TV) that has the opening sequence from the 221B VCR game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUH7JZrXz9w Lots of copies of the original game though. If you’re interested I would recommend the Gibson Gam...

EDIT: And lower down, it says 82!!!
Good catch. It does say on the back of the box, copyright 1986, 1992. Did some of the parts of 1986 carry over to the 1992 version?

The 1982 mention would be wrong though.

I also had the electronic mystery mansion, but that game just always took WAY too long.
Now I’m wondering if I should find the VCR game on ebay ;)
