Re: Which was the best mansion?

Ditto for Tudor Mansion. The exterior actually tries to match up with the interior (and mostly succeeds, I think), and I will never not love the expanded terrain & world building offered up in FX and Mysteries. Pushed further to pick a favorite depiction, I tip my hat to the board from the DVD game ...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

My best guess at this point is that this will be marketed as a “deluxe” alternative to the small box edition, much like how Monopoly and Monopoly Electronic Banking are sold alongside each other in lieu of one replacing the other. And entirely for the reason you brought up: American consumers love t...

Re: Could the "Clue Houses" work?

As executed by Hasbro? No, it’s too thin as they presented it in the game. The miniseries tried to expand the narrative as it had been established in the game, but for better or worse a second season never happened, leaving the houses concept just as vague as ever. If Hasbro had invested in better w...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Revealing the solution to other players is as simple as turning the mirror towards them & holding down the button so it lights up. I can’t figure why the mirror seems so complex to you, though. It has 3 slots for 3 cards. Insert them in the order shown (the back has icons for Suspect, Weapon, and Ro...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Got mine today & finally had a chance to sit down & look at it. To start, here’s the extent of the “damage” that saved me about $6: https://i.postimg.cc/Ny5NFmM1/B7-C4-EB46-C35-D-4663-A8-FB-D99-F3688-BB21.jpg So I think I’ll keep it, lol. So the box looks pretty nice in person. I still think it look...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I found this new edition listed on Amazon . Just ordered a copy for $14.26 ($15.26 after the $1 tax) — closer to what I think an edition like this should be retailing for, rather than upwards of $20 (after sales tax). The caveat is that I opted to buy one of the few being offered as a discounted Ama...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I do think the new Detetive game should have been considered for inspiration in updating the main Clue game. Aesthetically I don’t love all of Estrela’s choices, but mechanically I love what they’ve done with it, especially with the easy & optional integration of additional suspects & weapons, and a...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

To be fair, re the knife: if you look closely you can just make out two hooks around the knife, holding to the wall for display. I still think it’s a fairly uninspired redesign, but I do appreciate how it almost harkens back to the 72-92 box covers now that the suspects & weapons are in an actual ro...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

So for some reason this is available on the Amazon.in site HERE . They’ve got slightly higher resolution copies of the promotional photos ... ... including this look at the back of the box, revealing exactly how this mirror works: https://i.postimg.cc/14ky2KYX/07_B77_FED-00_B4-4_E69-_B5_FB-77326_ACA...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

I would imagine the mirror unit opens from the back, and the cards are loaded in a particular order, probably with some kind of notches to ensure they’re aligned properly. It does look tall enough to display the text at the bottom of each card if they’re fanned vertically inside the unit. As for how...

Re: New Clue Dr. Orchid 2nd Edition with Card Revealing Mirror

Apparently this is already available for purchase from Hasbro, though it’s still not listed on sites like Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Some internet digging found a catalog of new games for retailers to order stock for their shops: this game is officially known as Clue Classic Reveal, has been avail...

Re: New Clue Parody Game

I got give this a test drive tonight. It’s definitely over faster than most games of Clue, especially with the 2 player rules. We ended up losing our last round early thanks to a Mystery Card knocking an hour off the clock. What really struck me is how the board seems intentionally designed to push ...

Re: New Clue Parody Game

I mean, the whole tone of this line of Parody games is heavily slanted for an appeal to the 20-35 crowd. They’re definitely not family games. I can see the logic behind promoting them as light party games for adults, who are most likely having a few (or more than a few) drinks during game night. Con...

Re: Clue Rustic “Farmhouse” Edition — Yee haw

I really like this board art! This, to me, really sets the mansion as a country estate home more than any board I’ve seen before now (especially in the 2000s). And the perspective they’ve given it is a great effect. If I can’t get it from “Santa” this year, I may have to treat myself if Target runs ...

Re: Clue Rustic Edition — Yee haw

Any chance we could get more photos of the board art? To my eyes, it looks like a new drawing done especially for this edition. The kitchen looks completely different to its standard counterpart, and the center stairs actually end instead of fading into darkness (at least according to zooming in on ...

Re: New Clue Parody Game

They’re definitely not all white people lol. I guess I’ll just scan in all the cards tonight. Ava Carmine reads as a person of Indian/middle eastern descent, Oliver Gold is definitely a black man, and Frieda Rosè reads as a Latina lady. Nathan Jade is harder to peg, but given his profile as the hope...
